A Kool Roof Solution™ for this Tractor Supply building in Alice, Texas. The original single-ply TPO roofing surface material had seen better days in its short ten-year life, and an affordable, long lasting solution was necessary. And, typical removal and replacement methods would be very disruptive to the ongoing activities at this busy Tractor Supply retail outlet.
Texas State Roofing proposed a Polyglass acrylic elastomeric roof coating system. The coating would preserve and extend the useful life of the original roof with a full surface recoating. The single-ply TPO material was pressure washed and cleaned to prepare the substrate. Repairs were made at penetrations and flashings throughout the roof with Polyglass PolyBrite 72 Elastomeric Flashing Compound in conjunction with Polyglass PolyBrite Reinforcing Polyester fabric. The Polyglass PolyBrite 79 TPO/PVC Primer was applied to the entire roof area. Three coats of Polyglass PolyBrite 70 Acrylic Elastomeric Coating, a premium grade bright white coating, were applied to build back the surface of the single-ply roofing material lost to UV degradation. The three coats provide a total dry mil thickness (DMT) of 36, qualifying the roof for a 20-Year Polyglass Labor and Material Limited Coating Warranty.
