Texas State Roofing – Roof of the Week!

Fairwinds Condominium in North Padre Island.  This roofing system was replaced due to wind damage, but it did not take much wind to show the damage.  The shingles had been installed with a nail gun and a considerable percentage of the nails were ‘blown’ right through the shingles.  Other nails were crooked and outside the nail line.  The roof was relying on gravity and sealants to stay in place!

The new GAF Timberline® Lifetime High Definition shingles  will protect this condominium from the forces of nature.  Installed with six nails per shingle, each HAND-NAILED, to avoid under-driven, over-driven and crooked nails, the performance of this Advanced Protection® Shingle Technology is greatly enhanced.  The roofing system included GAF Pro-Start® starter shingles, StormGuard® barrier, FeltBuster® synthetic underlayment, TimberTex® ridge shingles, Z®RIDGE Hip shingles, and Cobra® Rigid Vent 3™ exhaust vent for the roof ridge.  The color blend is Weathered Wood.  Durable protection.  Lasting beauty.

The GAF Lifetime Roofing System has earned the prestigious Good Housekeeping Seal.
